Chapter 7: Capitalis

“Michelle, thank you for having us over,” said Bubblegum. “I’ve been wanting to meet you for such a long time… Forgive me if I’m starstruck by you…”

“How sweet of you,” Michelle replied. “I never was much of a star, though.”

“You are to me: I’ve seen your vid with Jupiter so many times…” explained Bubblegum. “I also loved your performance in Lunaland…”

Ms. Vont had played a small but effective role in this fantasy film prior to being cast in the Jupiter vid. Of note, years after Lunaland’s release, BlueGoob’s album Recognizer was discovered to cleverly synchronize with the film.

“Well,” replied Michelle, “you’re one of the few who saw the Cowboy Guitar vid. It was cool, wasn’t it? I was going to play you my copy of it. I guess you’ve already seen it…”

“I haven’t seen it,” said Riff. “I would love to watch it if it’s not too much trouble.”

“Oh yes, please; let’s watch it!” added Bubblegum.

Michelle dusted off the old device.

  1. Man this chapter is eventful! Martial law, girlfriend leaving, and then heavenly old lady messenger? What an action packed chapter! I haven’t finished the book yet but I wonder where the old lady comes from? Is she some sort of Bubblegum spirit guide? Is she a secret agent sent from Rocklantia? Is she just coincidentally meeting with the guy who can fix things at the end? I can’t wait to find out.
